2 hours of school holiday circus fun!

For current students of The Circus Studio to come together for games and supervised free time in the Studio as we prepare for the closure of the Studio.

Aerial Taster is a one-off class, giving you a taste of aerial silks and static trapeze. No experience required, this class is tailored to beginners of all abilities. Come hang upside down, climb up high and explore your own concept of space in a fun and supportive environment. This is an introductory class for adult students. Students must be over 18 to participate in this class.

A 60 minute class to build your strength and mobility foundations for circus.

Open Training is for current adult students of The Circus Studio to revise skills learned in class.

Trapeze Level 2 is for participants whose skills are advanced enough to progress from level 1 and have been advised by their trainer they can step up to level 2. Please get in touch if you have not completed these requirements but think the course may be suitable to you.

A 90 minute workshop for adults wanting to improve their handstands.

Circlets classes are for young people aged 5 -7 years, with a focus on improving coordination, motor skills and team building, with fun games and student let creativity and learning. All of our classes have limited numbers so students are ensured to get the best possible experience to learn new skills.

Circus Steps is one of the world’s first circus skills curriculum for school age children aged 7 years and up. Developed in Europe, these classes cover the basics in aerial, juggling, balance and acrobatics in a progressive and fun way. Each term children perform a show of their skills for their peers, which encourages teamwork and achievement while gaining valuable experience in being part of a show situation. Each ‘step’ is marked by the attainment of a badge, all twelve badges together create a circus tent that can be ironed on to most items of clothing.
Circus steps 1-4 is best suited to students ages 7-9 and students that have never trained in circus arts before. Please contact us if you have questions.

This class is an extension of Circus Steps, or for older teens who are new to circus. Designed to give participants the fundamentals of circus skills, and for those who have come through Circus Steps, a chance to delve deeper into their interests.

Youth Aerial covers silks and static trapeze. This class is for students who have attended a minimum of one term in Circus Steps and show an aptitude or keen interest in aerial. We strongly recommend observing a class before enrolling as it is more physically demanding than our other classes. Please contact us for more information.

This class is for students who are continuing on from Youth Aerial 1 only.

Wild Island is a group of dedicated young circus humans who enjoy honing their skills and performing all across Nipaluna/Hobart. We are always looking for more young people who would like to improve their skills, focus on performance skills and perform in front of audiences. Please contact us if you have further questions.
